The application is installed either via a Windows Installer MSI file, or via the downloaded file provided through the Autodesk add-in distribution site.  Double clicking the file should start the installation process.   Files are copied to appropriate directories, and should start when you start the appropriate version of Revit.


When starting Revit, if asked if you should trust the application, you will be required to click "Yes" in order for the application to run.
