Row Identifier Schemes

There are three row identifier schemes available:

Traditional Letters

Rows are identified beginning with the letter 'A' and continue to 'Z' skipping excluded letters.  After Z, rows will continue at 'AA', then 'BB', and so on repeating the next letter, but skipping excluded identifiers (for instance, 'II'.  "Following 'ZZ', rows will continue at 'AAA', then 'BBB'.

Sequential Letters

Rows are identified beginning with the letter 'A' and continue to 'Z' skipping excluded letters.  After Z, rows will continue at 'AA', then 'AB', then 'AC' and so on, repeating the next letter, but skipping excluded identifiers (for instance, 'II'.  Following 'AZ', rows will continue at 'BA', then 'BB' and 'BC' and so on.

Numbers

Rows are identified with numbers, beginning at '1' and continuing sequentially.  Excluded identifiers are not allowed in numerical row identifiers.  However, row numbers may be skipped manually when placing rows by selecting the next desired starting row."

Row Identifier Schedules

Row identifiers are stored in each seat family instance in the shared parameter PB_Row_Identifier.  These parameters may be used to schedule seating data in Furniture or Multi-Category schedules.  Parameters may also be used to tag individual rows on plan and section documentation.

Editing a Row Identifier

(Future Feature)

A row identifier may be edited by selecting a seat in that row, then editing it through the Performance Seating property window.  Changing the row identifier may trigger the following action items:

  1. The other seats associated with the same Row Reference Line will also be changed to the same designation.
  2. If there is another Row Reference Line that has the same designation, the application will ask if that row should be changed as well.
  3. If there is a row already labeled with the same NEW designation, the application will ask if the rest of the rows in that Seat Section should be re-labeled to avoid duplication.
