Performance BIM makes BIM Accessible to the Live Entertainment Industry
What We Do
Performance BIM provides model coordination and digital asset development services tailored to live entertainment, sports venues, or any large gathering space. We integrate specialty equipment with virtual design models used by construction managers and architects, aiding the engineering and coordination process.
Your design process shouldn’t be beholden to the software – the software workflow should support the design. While the modeling process can be complex, we are here to provide tools so you can focus on what you do best. Call or email today to see how we can help you streamline your processes.

Our Team
We are professionals in the live performance and entertainment industry with experience in the design and construction of performance venues. Our background in theatre production and venue consulting ensures we understand the unique needs of your projects.
Our History
Performance BIM was born out of the architectural design and theatre consulting world, where at Theatre Consultants Collaborative, Jason Prichard and Butch Garris found themselves having to implement BIM workflow. What they found was a lack of Revit tools and expertise related specifically to the specialized needs of the live performance industry. Like many other firms, Jason and Butch had to develop the tools and workflows themselves.
After speaking with specialty equipment contractor colleagues in the industry, Jason realized that they, too, were having similar challenges finding BIM experts with the specialized knowledge needed for their workflow. Performance BIM was launched to address two primary issues:
- Serve as a source of expertise for BIM implementation specifically related to the specialized needs of the live performance industry.
- Provide a central location for the development and distribution of tools to aid others in the industry.
The result has been a series of specialty family model templates, details, and custom program applications that support complex performance lighting, rigging, and audio-visual infrastructure devices.
Performance BIM is and will continue to be a work in progress. Beyond aiding companies with specific project and workflow needs, we hope to create a welcome and inclusive collaboration space for individuals and companies focusing on live performance facilities.
